Jakarta Drug and Food Supervision Agency (BPOM), has confiscated some food products because the distribution license was expired. They were found in one of markets in Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, Wednesday (7/8).

The food is actually still unfit for consumption. But we had to confiscate them due to expired distribution license

Jakarta BPOM Head, Dewi Prawitasari disclosed the food products that confiscated are prawn crackers Palembang and nutmeg sweets.

Her side also confiscated iodized salt with the same reason and three carts containing groceries. 

"The food is actually still unfit for consumption. But we had to confiscate them due to expired distribution license," she expressed, when she led the operation, Wednesday (6/8).

According to her, producer side must propose another license to Jakarta BPOM thus its product can be resold in the market. If not, all products that have expired license will be confiscated.

Her side also found soft drink cans that have no distribution license in Indonesia. The officer also found broken big-sized biscuit cans and then destroyed at the location. 

"This operation is to protect residents from illegal products," she closed.
